It’s been a week since we left Maine..and it feels like we’ve been away for a month (in a good sense though)! Things started off a little shaky at the Philadelphia airport...3 of our flights were canceled! To make a long story short, all 9 of us (my parents, my sister and her family, Emma, Brandt, and I) had to spend the night on the airport floor! Our flight was delayed for the following day (not until 4 in the afternoon), and we spent 3 hours on the runway before flying out. We finally made it to San Diego, minutes shy from missing the ship!!! It was an adventure, but I would recommend avoiding U.S. Airways and the Philadelphia airport...

Mexico was wonderful! The ship sailed from San Diego to Ensensada Mexico, and then my cousins Moises and Martita, and Tia Rosita and Tio Jose came to pick us up and drove us to Tijuana where we saw the rest of the family and spent the night. Moises and Gary picked up Cory at the airport the following day, and the whole family drove us back to Ensenada where we had a big celebration dinner for my dad’s 66th birthday.

I have eaten so much Mexican food the past few days, and every bite had been delicious! We are now sailing along the coast of Mexico and will reach Acapulco, Mexico in a few days.

Ship life is not only fun for me, but fun for the kids as well. We haven’t spotted any dolphins or whales yet, but Emma has her binoculars ready. Emma’s enjoying being treated like royalty by the crew, Brandt’s been doing good sleeping in a bed (with pillows all around), and Cory and I begin classes tomorrow!

I look forward to your next entry.
